Let me take this chance to reiterate publicly a comment I've already
made in private (replying to an inquiry about conference sponsoring),
unfortunately without any effect:

It's not too late to advertise the event as it deserves, possibly even
enabling more people to attend. Can you, or anyone else involved with
the organization and/or interested in the event, take a little time in
preparing a draft announcement and mail it to -publicity for comments
and final publishing?  That would also help for the stated goal of
raising awareness of Debian activities in the area.
