Personally, I get involved in this discussion because I've gotten tired of
people trying to "correct" my grammar and remove epicene they based on
their misguided understanding of the English language. It's annoying and
drives me towards standing up publicly for epicene they when it shows up
in discussion to spread around the burden of explaining that, yes, it
really is proper English.
