RE: woody release date

Hello Boris,

no, I dont think anyone can give you a release date for woody, it will be
released when
its ready. Since Woody is avilable on 11 platforms, and that it needs to be
ready for all of them, its hard to predict.

2 Days ago "potato", Version 8 (2.2r7) came out.

Please note also, that in its current state woody is quite usable on i386
("normal PC") and Sun Sparc (sun4cdm), I cannot talk aobut other platforms,
but on those two I have seen it myself work fine.

Please also note that several mirrors have a "debian-unofficial" brach,
there woody is currently 8 cd images (which are brought up to date about
twice a month).

And finally, there's a netinst cdrom (40MB or so) that will fetch almost all
it needs from the net.

Robert

Subject: woody release date

I want to try Debian ASAP! But I would feel pretty stupid if I
downloaded release 2.2rx a day before woody is released. Can someone
tell me woody release date?
