Your "rant" is not unreasonable but I would hope you saw my request
as polite and supportive of what you wanted to achieve. It was
intended as encouragement and a way of moving things on without
involving you in something burdensome. If you had declined I would
probably have done something about it in the coming weeks because
the bug seemed straightforward enough to present to a responsive
upstream.
