Are you kidding me? I provided a patch[0] a year and a half ago. I've
mentioned it several times on this list since then. Multiple users on
this mailing list have reported being victim to the exact same
problem. It literally takes 1 _minute_ to rebuild the yaboot package if
you grab e2fsprogs1.41 from snapshot[1]. I even provided[2] the fully
patched source packages and prebuilt binary packages.

Sorry to bother the community with fixes. I'll stay away. Maybe someday
your ISO images will actually boot my stock Apple iBook G4. (Presumably
after you've applied my patch.)
