There is already a newer image available which fixes the kernel issue for me on sparc64:

Yes, it is and it's a known problem that can occur during CD build from time to time, nothing
to worry about. You can see the kernel is missing by looking into the pool-sparc64/main/l/linux
subfolder and check whether the linux-image deb is there.

choose-mirror seems to have regressed in some way that it doesn't work anymore even with
the correct mirror data.

Yes, grub-installer doesn't work on PPC Macs at the moment, but I guess that was
mentioned on the list a couple of times already. Just go back to the main menu
and choose to install Yaboot instead which should work.
