Well, I don't remember the exact chronology, but I *did* ask a lot of
people during DebConf15 to keep it, including you. My request was
ignored back then as well.

And as you may know I have also been very active in trying to keep
powerpc in ever since the first announcement by the release team was
made. I couldn't join the IRC meeting though because it was held at
4 AM in the morning local time while I was in Hong Kong (I did add
my name to the doodle though in advance to get a date suited better
for me).

I don't know what else I'm supposed to do, however, my point remains
that we should not remove ports that lots people are actively using.
I understand that it is more fun for many maintainers to work on new
fancy architectures like arm64 or mips64el. However, that shouldn't
mean we should stop caring about things that people are actually using,
shouldn't we? And I fear we will have the same discussion with armel
soon as well which is currently our third-most popular architecture
which is also supposed to be removed after Stretch.
