According to a posting from one of the darwin developer lists, the new Intel based macs use EFI for booting. So anything that made macs what we KNEW as macs (i.e. Open Firmware and PowerPC CPUs) are now gone. I suspect that as soon as Intel can manufacture a decent 64-bit competitor to match the Opeteron, the rest of the lines (Power Macintosh and Xserve) will be transitioned to Intel. So any questions on these, and future, macs will be more appropriate to the debian x86, x86-64, and maybe even ia-64 lists (not sure if there are any non-ia-64 EFI machines). Let us have a moment of silence everyone ... cheers vinai
