Not sure if it applies to ibooks but 3d accel with all 9200 cards is not
a give:
"hardware 3D acceleration (except R300 and IGP series cards), hardware
cursor, XV extension, Xinerama extension."

The other thing that make me think twice is that ydl does not list 3D
accel for the ibook 1.2Gz.

Although this might just be a reflection of their lack of support, as
can easily be the case.
There are more examples but I guess they are just old.
