Wrong permission for '/dev/pmu'

When starting GNOME on my PowerBook, I'm getting a pop-up complaining
about the wrong permission for /dev/pmu.

I've found a post about it here:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2005/01/msg00235.html

...and added:

pmu:root:video:0660

to /etc/udev/permissions.d/udev.permissions

...but the problem still exists.

I've been reading a little about it, and it seems that there may be a patch to stop the dialog from popping up, and some discussion as to if it's the right thing to be doing anyway.

Is there anything I can do to rectify the problem?

Cheers,

Ben
