Since usbhid is loaded, I don't know what 
the problem could be. Maybe OF puts it in
a non-operating (maybe power saving) state.

Surprising, these machines have Airport
Extreme, which does not have Linux drivers
for lack of documentation. So why are these
modules loaded?
