On my Powermac 9500, I use Debian Sarge. Did not try dual boot, I don't like
that old MacOS.

Did not try that. I played around with X but did not find a valid
configuration. On my G3 blue and white it was quite easy, I have MacOS X and
Debian (both in graphics mode) up and running.
My PPC 9500 has become a fine home intranet database and web server.
