Yes it is. The alsa-bk-2004-08-26 patch was released after
the 2.6.8.1 Linux kernel release.
A first attempt to solve the "beep issue" was present in the
alsa-bk-2004-08-15 patch, too. I suppose the code was mainly
based on the patch posted in this mailing list by Julien
Blache.

Unfortunately the alsa-bk-2004-08-15 patch still had some
problems. It prevented the snd_powermac module from being
built successfully and, before the new release, another
patch from Elimar Riesebieter was required in order to
manage to build it.
