Notice that some ibooks had logic board problems, and apple offers a 3 year
no-fee warranty on their replacement. It happened to mine i got second hand
and which was bought in february 2003, since i believe yours is from december
2002 or so, it could well be that this is the same problem.
Go look at the apple support web pages for the exact model numbers affected.
