Are you using -r to specify the assembly ?
Any assembly with a pkg-config file (.pc) should be specified with -pkg
on the command line. The behaviour you describe is the normal one for
mono-1.0.

Oddly enough, I have problems getting it to work on my x86 computer...
mcs works fine, but I can't run my mono app.
I haven't taken much time to investigate that for the moment anyways...
