I will update my kernel. By the way since I updated to your devel
rsync (to get the suspend patch which unfortunately doesn't work on
TiBook3) 2.4.21-pre3-ben0, I have seen (heard) some strange thing with the sound.
Sometimes a persistent beep start and never stop. I thought about a esound
bug but killing it doesn't stop the beep. That said it can be a bug not 
related to the kernel.
