Re: PowerMac 7100/80 won't boot

okay, so explain this to me, I need a boot loader like mklinux Booter or
BootX and I need the kernel that this bootloader boots ( MachKernel -.....
or vmlinux)

and beyond that I will still need a compatible CD?

>From my understanding, the bootloader boots off the Extensions folder on the
MAC OS, okay so is the bootloader going to completely blow the OS away, and
can I do this safely and still be able to run the bootloader later (i.e.
What happens when it blows away MAC OS and the extensions folder, and the
installation fails, how do I get back to the extensions folder)

Also, if someone else is up for a puzzle, I don't know where to get MAC OS
8.6 installation CD's (I bought this computer at a surplus sale, and I have
no CD's for it)

Puzzle #2: my etherlink toggle works on a crossover cable directly to
another PC but does not work attached to my company's network hub (It is
really annoying having to plug a network cable into the linux computer,
download the binaries, set up an ftpserver, plug in a crossover cable and
download them to the mac)
