libpng confusion

hi-

i have libpng:
dylan@cmn:~/src/plsrc211linux/src$ dpkg -l | grep png
ii  libpng2        1.0.12-3.woody PNG library - runtime

and have also compiled and installed (manually) version 1.2.5:


tried compiling and running an app that needs this lib, however when i run
it i get:
libpng warning: Application was compiled with png.h from libpng-1.0.12
libpng warning: Application  is  running with png.c from libpng-1.2.5
gd-png:  fatal libpng error: Incompatible libpng version in application and
library


relevant contents of my /usr/lib/ dir:
