To those who wanted the logs, it was actually at /var/log/xdm.log
Possible..
And, to those who are saying that it's unsupported, the 'real' X
server
doesn't seem to support valkyrie video devices.
So use the fbdev driver for X, and video=offb in case there's no
success
with video=valkyriefb (in the kernel options, these).

The Xpmac server doesn't seem to generate an .Xauthority file to store
the
X authentication cookies in. That's tough luck; even xhost + won't
work in
that context.
Another problem might be Xpmac not listening on the tcp port. Make sure
you have Unix domain socket support in the kernel, or loaded as a
module
(modprobe unix).
