Re:X Won't Log In

Kernel options? Where do I set those?
I set the video driver to the framebuffer one (fbdev I think) but it doesn't work. (in the real XFree86 that is) - I'll try to set the video=valkyriefb as soon as someone tells me where I set the kernel options. Thanks.

To those who wanted the logs, it was actually at /var/log/xdm.log

Possible..

And, to those who are saying that it's unsupported, the 'real' X server
doesn't seem to support valkyrie video devices.

So use the fbdev driver for X, and video=offb in case there's no success
with video=valkyriefb (in the kernel options, these).

AUDIT: Mon Jul 21 07:15:50 2003: 326 X: client 2 rejected from local
host
   Auth name: XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 ID: -1
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server

The Xpmac server doesn't seem to generate an .Xauthority file to store the X authentication cookies in. That's tough luck; even xhost + won't work in
that context.

Another problem might be Xpmac not listening on the tcp port. Make sure
you have Unix domain socket support in the kernel, or loaded as a module
(modprobe unix).
