Yeah, you've basically disabled 2D acceleration. :) Sounds like a
general instability with DRI enabled. I don't know why that would be,
the only suggestion I can make is to try the DRM from
drm-trunk-module-src (and possibly the rest of the dri-trunk-sid
packages as well) and see if it works any better.
