No, almost certainly not. Speed is limited by the type of SCSI bus
implemented, and by the components you attach to the bus. No firmware
upgrade will help, unless the old firmware was so badly hosed that it
caused transmission problems on the bus or the like.
I've never heard of such problems on this type of adapter, though.
