Re: possible php bug on powerpc/4.2.3

Hi Jean-Christophe

I am running testing and did the force-upgrade to unstable to get php 4.2.3.

Using your test file I got:

// file test.php var_export test
array ( 0 => 'hello', 1 => 'bonjour', 2 => 'Guten Tag', 3 => 'Hayo', 4
=> 'Salam', 4 =>  3 => ?ÿÏ@?ÿÏ@D$??ÿÏ`$$? *à?ÿÏ`Ö-? *àíã%¸?ÿÏ`?ÿÏ Ö/4ã%¸$$??8 *àã%¸ *à?ÿÏ í?ÿõ?í?8ã%¸ *à?ÿÏÐÕ{?ÿÏà?8?H?ÿõ??8í?ÿÏðÕ¢Ü ,ð&?H?ÿõ??8 *à?ÿÐ ]80Yø?8?HÊT?ÿàÀ cP0Yø?ÿÕ?0¤À0Æè?ÿÕ?0¤À0Æè?ÿÐøþ0¼??ðãWÔã%¸ãWÔ?ÿÑ(Ö°tBB$?ð?ÿÓð0\À?ÿÔÐ?ÿÕ?0¥?0Æè?ÿÕ?0¤À0Æè0Ĩhh?? ãWÔã%¸ãWÔ?ÿÒÖ°tBB¤? ?ÿÔP0\À?ÿÔÐ?ÿÕ?0¥?0Æè?ÿÒ`ª??xãWÔã%¸ãWÔ?ÿÒ?Ö°tBB¤?x?ÿÔp0\À?ÿÔÐ?ÿÕ?0¥?0Æè?ÿÕ?0¤À0Æè?ÿÐ ?ÿÕ?0¤À0Ĩ?ÿÓ?ÿÕ?0¤À0l`?ÿÓ0?ÿÕ?0¤À?ÿÓ  n8?ÿÓPD$?0Ĩä?h0\À?ÿÔ0?,É???ÿÔP0j?ÿÓ?B???ÿÔ@©?«?yD???ÿÔ@?@0YP?Ü[UÈ©??ÿÔ¬?ÿÔP0\À?ÿÔ@?ÿÔ 0|°0¤À?P?@?ÿÔ0?ÿÕ??ÿÔ ?ð÷p?@?( æd?ÿÕ0\À?P?ÿÔÐ0?`?ÿÕ?P?ÿÔÐ?ÿÕ*ô æp?ÿÔà?@ªX?x?ÿÔðàøþ0ø?ð?ÿÕàø?ÿÕ?¸0\À?@?ÿÕ  æ?0\À?ð?ÿÕ üD???¦Ü?ÿÕP0º?ÿÕP?ÿþD?ÿþL0eD?@0\Àÿÿÿÿ?ÿÕ?0»,?ð"???@0Yøã%¸?ÿÕ??ÿÕÀßöü0\À?ÿ׸?ð?µÈ??®°?0\À?ÿØP0·?ÿØÀ?ÿÕÀ0¶ì?ð?µÈ??®°?0\À?ÿØP$??ÿÖÐw¼?ÿß ¶xÄ??ÿÛJt$$ ?ÿÛ ö°?ÿÛã%¸?ÿ׸?ÿ×??ÿÛB$?ÿØh?ÿØlßô0?ÿØX0c<ü ?ÿ×?$??ÿÚp?ÿÚÕ¬?ð?µÈ???ÿØ??D??ÿ×ð0eXã%¸?ô?ÿØp??ÿØx?ô0\À?ÿØ?ÿØ00{´ýÀ?@ã%¸?ÿØP?ÿØ`?ÿÛP4?ÿÚÀÖT?ÿÛ@?ÿÚÐ×0ã%¸ p`?ÿØ?ÖHdýÀ$(?ã%¸ p`?ÿÙ ÿÿÿÿ?ÿØÐ ã%¸ p`?ÿØÐÖHd?ÿØè$$?ã%¸ p`D(I ØÏpl0\À?ÿÙX0?,Tÿ¬?ÿÙ?B(I?8 8 1 0YP0eX0fô~?¥Tÿ?ÿÚ0Éø0fô?ÿÙp?ÿÙX?ÿÙè0?Ö60B??ÿÙ  p`D(?0Ĩ ?ÿÛ?B??ÿÚðÒ T ?ÿûÀ0²Ä?h ? ão´?ÿÚ?ã%¸?ÿÚ`?ÿÚ?2000+ã%¸@?øh?X?àrð%rðrðD· ?ÿÚðæ?$l ?ÿÞ¶xÄ??ÿß0Lä?ÿÞ ?ÿÝ?Õ¬ ?ÿÛ°?h?ÿÛ°ão´?ÿÚ?t ?P?0?ÿÛÐ?Ð+?ÿÛà?ÿüH?0?<?ÿÜ?B?rð?ÿÜ?à?0?0?ÿÜ2B?rð?( ?ÿÜH?ÿÜ@Ò??pB??rð?p?¸?ÿüpÙÔferer: http://localhos?ÿÜ?/-8;q=0.66, *;q=0.?(ml,t?ÿÜ°html;q=0.9,t?ÿÜÀplaiã%¸X+?(?ÿÜÐÌØ?(+ã%¸0?ÿÝÖËds,*/¸?ÿÝ?ÿÞ¸0ãWÔ v v vã%¸?ÿÝ@Ö³Ø?ÿÝ@ v¾h v?ÿÝp qd?ÿÜØ v t- t(?ÿÝxè? v?ÿÞ°?¬?ÿÞ e?ÿÞ@?(?ÿÞ@ÌØF|dÔ?(?ÿÞ`ÌØF|?ÿßp?ÿÞ`Æàrð?ÿÞpàÆà?ÿÞ? | tTÌÜïà?ÿÞ° ÚF|?ÿßp tTÌÜ?ÿÞÐ ΰ'Buon giorno', )

when run through apache.

I note some other funny stuff though; my php4 command line binary
doesn't load the correct .so files, and states its version as 4.1.2.

Otherwise phpinfo() gives me:

PHP Version 4.2.3

System Linux voltaire 2.4.19-powerpc-smp #1 SMP Mon Sep 9 09:11:02 EDT
2002 ppc unknown unknown GNU/Linux
Build Date Mar 15 2003 17:45:31.......
