What are the optimum keymap for a powerbook g4 400 ??

Hi,
I've got a powerbook g4 400 under debian.

I'm looking for the right keymap for my keyboard.
I need a correct configuration to code under linux.
Actually I can't make many symbols like { } or [ ].
Could you help me to find a solution to work under console
and X ?
