	Potato is quite old. Like Chris said in this thread, woody's X
	is so much better (and faster) than what is in potato.

	Also, getting a new 2.4 kernel is recommended, since feels
	generally faster than 2.2. In my case, it also supported SMP
	much better for the 9500/180MP that I have here.

	Just upgrade to woody and life will be much simpler. I second
	Chris's advice here.
