Well, the easiest, though not the least expensive, solution is to buy a
USB mouse with however many buttons you (+/- scroll wheel), and use
that.

If the machine is not USB equipped, of course you'd have to buy a USB
card for it as well.  Probably impossible if it's a NuBus Mac.

The cheaper solution is to use the kernel's support for mouse button
emulation via the keyboard.  I don't know the details of this since I
went with the former solution, but you should be able to find more
information in the list archives.
