kernel-package itself comes with very good documentation in a variety
of formats, just type `man make-kpkg' for a start.  If you are
managing a number of different kernel configurations, say for a
heterogeneous cluster of workstations, kernellab will automate most of
the work for you.  The kernel packages you create won't include
package source and therefore you won't be able to upload them to
Debian, but this is probably not what you wanted to do in the first
place.
