i've found that to be true on more arches than just ppc, on the m68k
arch macs tend to do better without end termination, and just host
termination like you described. i dunno why exactly, but it goes against
SCSI 'voodoo' and tech specs. a strange thing, mac hardware is.

PS: i didn't know the MESH chip was a known bad chip. learn a new one
