The booting up time is about the same compared with an 
ordinary computer. 
But I usually don't have to boot the iBook a lot,
since the powermanagement works fine. You just close the
lid when you don't need the iBook any more and open it,
when you need it again. Then it is back within 2-3 seconds.

The iBook uses Suspend to RAM.

Suspend Mode is why I love the iBook :)

Watching Divx with an G3-500Mhz is working fine.
But the current iBooks come with more power. That will
even be better. But I can't really tell anything about 
the real huge divx.
