I'm not currently with Linux installed on my iBook, but is
/dev/sound/* a devfs thing? Have you tried it without devfs? I
had no problems using Linux on my iBook 600/100. I'll get it
reinstalled soon, BTW, and I'll be able to give more details
(if you don't solve the problem before).
