Nope, nothing unusual there. I'm also noticing a number of strange
things(e.g. screen blanking, flickers of vertical bars, pixel clock
changes, and color remapping) happening seemingly randomly, although
they do, on the whole, seem to happen after a mouse movement or button
click. Does this point to the glint video driver as being buggy, and it
too is the ultimate culprit for the X server terminations. (Happens with
both a USB trackball and an ADB mouse, so that seems to rule out my
first thought of it being somehow related to my USB card.)

Is it worth trying the Debian build of XF86 4.2? (How would I add this
to my apt sources list?) And if that doesn't solve the problem, what
might I use to track down the problem?
