Rolling my own Powerpc kernel from Debian sources

I was going to upgrade my powerpc to kernel 2.2.19,
when I noticed that there isn't a kernel-image of
2.2.19 for the powerpc. So I found the source and
have decided to roll my own. I have one question
though...I noticed that there was a kernel-patch
2.2.19 for the powerpc debian package. Opening this
package, I found that it doesn't seem to be a
traditional diff. I was wondering, therefore, how I
apply this kernel-patch to make my kernel 2.2.19 for
the powerpc.

Many thanks for the information will be GREATLY
appreciated.
