Can you ping the PPP peer? If yes, you're probably missing the default
route.
PS: This is not a powerpc specific question and as such better suited
for debian-user or other forums.
PPS: Please configure your mailer to wrap lines after a reasonable
amount of characters, e.g. between 70 and 80.
