problem : macserial, modem, benh kernel

Hi there!

Have Benh Kernel 2.4.11 ( updated today )
When I installed wvidal I got this :

Scanning your serial ports for a modem.

ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- ATQ0 V1 E1 -- ATQ0 V1 E1 -- nothing.
ttyS1<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- ATQ0 V1 E1 -- ATQ0 V1 E1 -- nothing.
Port Scan<*1>: S2 S3

Sorry, no modem was detected! Is it in use by another program?
Did you configure it properly with setserial?

Please read the FAQ at http://www.worldvisions.ca/wvdial/

If you still have problems, send mail to wvdial-list@worldvisions.ca.

Why is there no modem ? Strange ...

dmesg says :
macserial: serial modem detected
PowerMac Z8530 serial driver version 2.0
tty00 at 0xc98e4020 (irq = 22) is a Z8530 ESCC (internal modem)
tty01 at 0xc98eb000 (irq = 23) is a Z8530 ESCC (IrDA)

Modem and IrDA is detected correctly, or isn´t it ?

setserial does autosave always.

Who has an idea where the problem is and knows how to fix it ?! Is it a Kernel / wvdial / user!? - Problem ?
have uninstalled irda-tools and irda-common, so these tools can´t be the problem

Thanks for your help!

cu,

Michael
