It depends what model of G4 you have actually. Earlier models have
the good old screamer (AWACS family) and is supported.

Newer models have I2C based chips. The chips themselves are apparently
standdard, and we now have an I2C driver (which still need some work
to be really mergeable, but it seem to work enough for sound on iBook2).
