well this is j2sdk-1.3.0-FCS-linux-ppc.tar.bz2 from
mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/java-linux somewhere, dated 19/10/2000 

so well before kevin made the announcment about the move to the new glibc, and
yes all other java stuff seems to work fine, appletviewer runs the applets
that kill mozilla, well fine in this case except the stupid font not found
thing with any AWT app, oh well.
