as with all newworld hardware you must partition it correctly.  see

the potato boot-floppies don't know how to setup the bootloader
automatically so you have to drop to a shell and run mkofboot
yourself, see the installation docs on how to do that.  

as for hardware support im not sure how 2.2.19 likes them, i think it
probably won't care for the video so you will need to add video=ofonly
at the yaboot prompt when you boot the CD. (potato r3 CDs should
boot).  

if your a somewhat experienced debian user you may want to test the
woody boot-floppies which make the installation process on newworld
powermacs much more pleasent.
