Netscape uses the mbox format.  I made the switch from netscape to mutt
just last year, and it goes pretty smoothly.  You can pretty easily just
use your netscape mailboxes with mutt.  The only annoying thing is that
netscape adds (and hides) a ".bsd" or something like that to subdirectories
it creates.
