A friend of mine, Toby McNulty might be able to help. Toby has been playing
around with a couple of hacks that could turn out to be very useful.
A quick hack to repartition a hfs+ (maybe normal hfs too, i dunno) volume
without reformatting, targeted directly towards people who aren't so
comfortable with nuking all their work, but wanna give that linux thing a shot.
He also wrote a quick port of dd to macos(!). Neither of these are
especially polished, but from what I can tell, they work. I'll forward
this thread to him.
