Power managment and Xserver

There seems to be an unofficial Xserver that is mentioned quiet a lot in
the archives, but I can't find a link to it.  Will somebody please
summarize the status of the Xserver specifically of interest to me is the
G3 laptop (Rage Pro II believe).
The other question is wrt power management.  I know that 3400 and 2400
powerbooks have power management.  Does anyone knows if the G3 laptops
(second gen.) have power management too?  Is anyone working on it?
