it is indeed much improved, QT does not segfault now, when selecting text.
The new egcs is even faster (at least on memory access). I ran a small
memory benchmark and it produced better results (I did the test twice and
without any other cpu load). The kernel (2.2.3) also compiles cleanly and runs
very stably (at least till now).

I have made the new qt .debs and now that I am officially a developer (glad to
be on the Debian train!) I will upload them RSN... (hm... 'man dupload' :).

What packages do you suggest I try dealing with?
