Ah, you're right. I was misremembering. I thought it was dash that
had the built-in test.
Well, that clinches it. Adding posh-compatibility as a requirement to
policy would make an unknown number of packages suddenly have RC
bugs. Therefore, I'm strongly opposed to the suggestion.
On the other hand, my suggestion (make bash- and dash-compatibility a
"must" and general POSIX-shell compatibility a "should") would mean an
unknown number of bugs appear, but at least they'd just be normal
bugs, not RC. Which I think is a reasonable compromise.
