The only problem in this case is if some of involved packages need to
have fixes on sarge and on this case t-p-u will need to be used.

IMHO, experimental can be used to have all involved packages updated
and then when it is done move it to unstable. In case of this change
works well on experimental and then on unstable, I don't see any
problem to allow it enters sarge.
