The translations should be based on what we actually have, not on what
we once thought we might have.  Yeah, ok, this is an issue, but I
think it's one we should try to solve, rather than using it as an
excuse for overly rigid policies.

For that matter, what about menu hints?  Do we have translations for
all of the various hints that different packages use?

If unexpected menu sections break KDE, then KDE has a nasty bug!
Remember, users can define their own menu entries for locally
installed software, and can create their own sections.  I, for
example, have "/Hosts" for machines I log into on a regular basis.

(Of course, I've long thought that KDE's method of handling Debian's
menu system was badly broken.  I complained once, but since I don't
use KDE, I never made a big deal about it.  I don't even know if my
complaint is still valid.)

Anyway, that's enough for one post.  I'll discuss the Benevolent
Dictator idea later, once I've had more coffee and time to think.
