I think you should just go ahead and implement what you said in the bug
report, and upload it. I don't think Adam will mind :)

I also believe that dhelp/dwww/whatever stuff simply shouldn't be done on
systems without dhelp/dwww/whatever. That would efficiently peel off large
amounts of overhead from most systems.
