Have you ever tried this on a large package? Like the 8 mb quake-lib
package?

0inputs+0outputs (2524major+96minor)pagefaults 0swaps

Dpkg has to seek through the entire .deb file for this command to work. Thus,
it takes 15 seconds to process it (on my P-166). This is less than ideal
when you have a lot of packages to process.
