	I do not see this at all. If you want to package apache, and I
 want to package apache, and jack wants to package apache, and
 tom wants to package apache, and ... you get the picture. No matter
 how big Debian gets, do we want 53 packages of apache 2.2.4 from 53
 different people?

	I think this is a bad idea. Big is also fuzzy and
 subjective. How much does it take to fire off a mail message a
 priory? Packaging a Debian package takes lots more effort than that
 (as you well know). Can someone who finds sending a mail message too
 much work really maintain a package? ;-)

	There is rarely discussion. It is more like "hey, guys, I'm
 packaging xyz". Usually therte is no response (look it up in the
 archives). When there was discussion, usually there was a problem,
 which the maintainer was better of having resolved.

	I intend to package X as vaporware? No, most vaporware is
 usually I intend to write Y.
