Ok.

gregoa-guest@alioth:~$ time nice -n 10 qa/versioncheck.pl > /var/lib/gforge/chroot/home/groups/pkg-perl/htdocs/qa/versions.html

real 0m17.559s
user 0m10.357s
sys 0m1.712s

gregoa-guest@alioth:~$ time nice -n 10 qa/versioncheck-html > /var/lib/gforge/chroot/home/groups/pkg-perl/htdocs/qa/versions_old.html

real 1m25.112s
user 0m19.701s
sys 0m31.010s

That's 4.84 times as fast; running the script 4.84 times more often
means every 4.95 hours.

in version.pl :-)
