Perl 5.6 is available! - but not officially in unstable :-(



I guess the only question remaining is why this isn't on the official 
Debian site in the unstable version instead of some out-of-the-way place 
that no one knows about.

Thanks for the info.  I'll download and begin testing this package 
immediately.  Now the question turns into who should we send bug 
reports/patches/contributions to, since this isn't an official Debian 
package.  I doubt debian-perl@lists.debian.org would be the appropriate 
place.

When will this be moved into unstable, and if it's some off in the 
future date why so long?  If the answer is that there are known problems 
and that it will break things then it kind of goes against your position 
that everything works out fine and people are just uninformed on where 
to get Perl 5.6.
