I vote for updating the modules contained in the perl-5.005 package.

Funnily there's a similar problem for slice, it does need a new version
of IO::File. And the slice maintainer decided to have its own
dir for perl modules and he added a use lib
"/my_private_dir/with_new_modules" in the script ...

But that's not a very clean solution for a perl module (for a perl script
like slice it can be ok however)
