Changing the locale setting doesn't make any difference - my son has
he_IL.utf8 and OO.o still starts with an English interface. Experimenting -
other Hebrew locales such as he_IL.iso88598 are no different. Only using
Tools/Options/Language Settings in the gui changes the interface language.
Anyway, what is wrong with using the gui - it's provided for the purpose? And
works in the debian packages provided by hebrew.openoffice.org (I don't use
them as they don't provide other features such as kde integration).

As above - not so for me.

No - it's the SAME problem - you can't change the language settings as ALL the
drop-down lists in the program became blank, in language settings,
formatting, etc etc etc - making it almost totally unusable.
